Locked out of your DoorBird app account? It happens — especially if you manage more than one device or haven't logged in for a while. Here's how to get back into your account quickly and securely.
Before You Start
Your DoorBird app password is tied to your DoorBird online account (the same login you use for the app and the web-based admin portal), not to an individual intercom or camera. Resetting it will not affect your device's network settings, video recordings, or user/RFID list — it only resets how you sign in.
Make sure you have access to the email address associated with your DoorBird account before you begin, since that's where the reset link will be sent.
Step 1: Open the Login Screen
Launch the DoorBird app on your phone or tablet, or go to the DoorBird web admin portal from a browser. On the sign-in screen, look for a link along the lines of "Forgot password?" or "Reset password" near the login fields.
Step 2: Request the Reset
Tap or click that link, then enter the email address registered to your DoorBird account. Submit the request. The system will send a password reset message to that inbox within a few minutes.
- Check your spam or promotions folder if it doesn't show up right away.
- Make sure you're checking the same email address you originally used to create the account — a typo here is the most common reason resets seem to "not arrive."
Step 3: Follow the Link and Set a New Password
Open the reset email and follow the included link. You'll be prompted to create a new password. We recommend:
- At least 10–12 characters
- A mix of upper/lowercase letters, numbers, and a symbol
- Something unique — not reused from another account
Once you confirm the new password, it takes effect immediately.
Step 4: Log Back In
Return to the app or admin portal and sign in with your email and new password. If you had the app open on other devices, you may need to log in again there too, since some sessions refresh after a password change.
Still Can't Log In?
If you never receive the reset email, double-check that:
- You're using the exact email tied to the account (not a secondary or shared inbox)
- Your email provider isn't silently filtering messages from DoorBird's domain
- You're not confusing your DoorBird app login with your device's local WiFi credentials — these are two separate things
If you've confirmed all of the above and still don't see the email after 15–20 minutes, reach out to us and we'll help track down the issue.
A Note on Device Access vs. Account Access
If what you've actually lost is access to a physical intercom or camera (for example, you no longer know its local admin credentials and can't reach it at all), that's a different situation from an app password reset — you'll likely need to factory reset the device itself. See our related article on factory-resetting a DoorBird device for that process.
