The A8007 is DoorBird's Bluetooth keyfob remote — a small physical fob you can carry on a keyring to trigger your door station's relay (unlocking a door, opening a gate, etc.) with a single button press. It's a handy option for household members or staff who want one-touch access without pulling out a phone or memorizing a code. Here's how to pair it, use it day to day, and — importantly — what to do if one goes missing.
What the A8007 does
Once paired through the DoorBird App, the keyfob can trigger the same relay output your app or keypad codes use — most commonly the door lock, but it can be configured for a secondary relay like a gate or garage opener depending on how your installer wired the unit's outputs. It's a short-range accessory: press the button when you're at or near the door, not from across the yard or the street.
Pairing the keyfob
- Open the DoorBird App and sign in with an administrator account for the door station you want the fob to control.
- Go to the device settings and open the section for Bluetooth accessories or peripherals.
- Select the option to add a new Bluetooth keyfob.
- Put the A8007 into pairing mode — this is usually a press-and-hold on its button until an indicator light changes state. Check the insert that shipped with the fob for the exact timing, since it can vary slightly by firmware revision.
- Keep the fob, your phone, and the door station close together during the pairing process so nothing drops out of range mid-setup.
- Once the app confirms the pairing, label the fob (e.g., with the household member's or employee's name) and save.
- Test it at the door to confirm it triggers the correct relay before relying on it.
Everyday use
- Press the button on the fob when you're within short range of the door to trigger the paired relay.
- It's a single-purpose accessory — there's no display, app login, or configuration to manage on the fob itself day to day.
- Keep a spare battery on hand. Coin-cell batteries in small Bluetooth accessories typically last many months to a couple of years depending on how often the fob is used, and a fading battery usually shows up as intermittent or short-range-only triggering before it fails completely — replace it at the first sign of that rather than waiting for a full failure at your door.
If a keyfob is lost or stolen
Treat a missing A8007 exactly the way you'd treat a missing RFID fob: it's a working key in someone else's hands until you deactivate it, so don't wait to deal with it.
- Go to the Bluetooth accessories section in the device settings.
- Find the labeled fob that's missing — another good reason to label each one with a specific person's name when you pair it, rather than leaving them generic.
- Select delete or remove, and confirm.
- The fob is deactivated immediately. You don't need the physical fob in hand to revoke it — removing it from the app's list is what disables it.
Afterward, pair a replacement as a new fob rather than trying to reuse or reactivate the old one. If the affected household or business relies heavily on keyfob access, it's worth keeping at least one backup credential type — a keypad code or RFID card — active for the same people so a single lost fob doesn't lock anyone out in the meantime.
Removing or replacing a keyfob
- In the same Bluetooth accessories section, find the labeled fob you want to remove.
- Select delete or remove, and confirm.
- To pair a replacement, follow the pairing steps above as if it were a new fob.
